Angels in Flight
Angels in Flight is essentially “a group of neighbors, helping neighbors.” We are a 501c3 non-profit charity organization in the Shoals area, dedicated to assisting those among us who need a helping hand. Whether it’s with food, clothing, or other special needs, Angels in Flight seeks to aid and support those in our communities who find themselves to be less fortunate in the moment.

Angels in Flight believes that, when we lift up those around us, we lift up ourselves. When we make life better for others, our own lives are made better as well. By helping one another, we improve our communities and strengthen the relationships which make each of us thrive.

Request Assistance
If you or someone you know requires assistance, please submit a request to Angels in Flight, using our Application for Assistance to detail the specific need and why you believe Angels in Flight should address that need.
PLEASE NOTE: While we cannot respond to all submissions, Angels In Flight will review each request with diligence and sensitivity. We will treat your request with respect to privacy, but will need full name(s) and contact information for the person(s) requiring assistance, as well as that same information regarding the person requesting the assistance, so that we can act upon any and/or all approved requests.

The Legacy
​
Angels in Flight is a legacy project which honors the lives of Tim and Doris Rhodes.
Success was the result of hard work and ingenuity for Tim, as the owner of Tim Rhodes Electric and Tim Rhodes Properties, LLC. Prior to his business years, Tim had married his high school sweetheart, Doris, in 1973. This self-made notable couple never forgot where they came from, and always gave back to those they loved and to their community.

On Tuesday, July 28, 2020, after spending time with family, Tim and Doris boarded a plane in Gulf Shores, Alabama, and perished in a tragic accident not long after take-off. While their lives ended on that day, their legacy of love and commitment continues to be extended to others through Angels in Flight.

Show your support. Wear it! Angels in Flight T-shirts are available, $25 for sizes up to XL. All proceeds will go to help local families. Shirts come printed with a QR code (our website link) on back that can actually be scanned! With each purchase you are helping your neighbors by providing for such things as a meal for a family, rent or medical assistance, even buying a Christmas gift for a child.
