Angel Wing Wishes
Angel Wing Wishes is a holiday charitable gift program through which people choose anonymous Shoals-area children to be the recipients of their generosity, as they seek to fulfill both the needs and wants of kids in our community for Christmas. Angel Wing Wishes is a project of Angels in Flight, a local 501c3 non-profit charity organization, dedicated to assisting those among us who need a helping hand. It’s “neighbors helping neighbors.”
How Does It Work?
Follow the 5 steps below to be an "Angel" and participate in the Angel Wing Wishes project:
STEP 1
Select a "Wing" from our virtual tree below to see each kid’s request list. Look over as many as you like.

Keep in mind that you are not limited by the request list. You are welcome to do as much or more as you can! If for any reason you are unable to fill a complete list, just let us know by providing the "Wing Reference # and missing item, so that we can plan to fill in any "feather gaps."

STEP 2
Commit to a "Wing of Wishes" by commenting with the Wing Reference # of your choice on our original "Angel Wing Wishes" Facebook post pinned at the top of our Facebook page.
Wing requests are confirmed in the order they're received. We will reply on your comment on the Facebook post to confirm whether or not your choice was still available. (Please, note that we will update and respond as quickly as possible... but we are an all volunteer team with jobs and multiple responsibilities. So, bear with us.) If we reply with "Previously Adopted," please, choose another Wing. Once confirmed, you can shop with confidence for your "Adopted" recipient.

STEP 3
Shop! Have fun as you fulfill the wants and needs of your lucky recipient.
Remember, you aren't limited to the list. We simply ask, if you are unable to find or purchase an item from the list for any reason, please, alert us with the Wing Reference # as soon as possible, so that we can try to find other Angels who may be able to fill in any "feather gaps."

STEP 4
Tag or label each and every gift clearly with the appropriate Wing Reference #. Be sure to leave the gift UNWRAPPED or placed in an OPEN GIFT BAG.
Festive holiday bags are greatly appreciated! For safety reasons, we cannot permit wrapped gifts which cannot be inspected to be delivered. Also, please, do not write directly on the packaging nor gifts themselves. Children love shiny new packages as much as you do! Defacing the box or package with a big number in black marker can lessen the jolly and bright joy intended. We trust you understand, and we thank you for following this request.

STEP 5
Leave your tagged gifts at any of our convenient Drop Locations NO LATER THAN 5PM ON TUESDAY, DEC. 10th.
If you would like a receipt for the items you donate, please, request one as items are dropped off.

After doing these 5 steps, sit back with a smile on your face and enjoy the holidays ... knowing that you made a difference in the life of a child and put a smile on their face too! THANK YOU BEYOND WORDS!

Q: How do I know my gifts are going those who really need them?
A: Please, know each recipient has been submitted and verified through community resources which can confirm the need of the person or family involved. You can give with confidence, knowing your generosity will reach someone who truly needs your assistance.

Q: How do I know my gifts will reach the people I have purchased them for in time for Christmas?
​
A: Angels in Flight teams with local police and fire department agencies to assist in the delivery of all items donated. Our teams will work tirelessly to be sure all donated gifts reach the right recipients in time for Christmas. Please, be sure to clearly label each unwrapped gift with the Wing Reference #.

Q: Can I receive a receipt for the items I donate?

A: Yes. Angels in Flight can prepare a receipt for you upon request. When dropping your items at our office, or leaving them with any AIF representative, just ask for a copy of a written receipt on which you can report the value of the items you are donating.

Q: Can I select more than one Wing on the tree?
A: By all means! Be as generous as you can be! We appreciate it, and the recipients will too! Just make sure we confirm each Wing Reference # selection with you to ensure that each of your commitments are documented in our records.
